Spring and Autumn seasons are the best time to visit Tbilisi. Winter is not as harsh as you might think because the Kura River smoothens the cold of the Caucasus but July and August can be pretty hot for strolling around the streets.
Transportation in Tbilisi
I recommend exploring the city by walking as always but for remote places, you can use the app called Bolt that eases getting around in Tbilisi. I recommend you to use this app because it has pretty reasonable prices, a good interface and it is so easy to use. Download this app before you go to Georgia and it is common in all of Georgia. Don't use regular taxis because they may try to scam you. Even if they don't try, their normal prices are pretty much higher than other transportation apps.
Getting to and from the Airport
The cheapest way to reach the city center is bus 337. It costs 1 GEL (you can pay with contactless card on the bus) and gets through its final stop Station Square which has train station next to it. Bolt can also be used to get to the city center. Another option is airport taxis which have fixed prices and you can see the prices from the board outside of the airport but be careful with the taxi drivers who will try to bother you through the airport exit.
Fabrika Hostels locates at a hipster neighbourhood. Building was a sewing factory in the Soviet period. Hostel has both shared and private rooms and has diverse facilities. Great common room and lots of places to eat, drink and various studios in the courtyard of hostel.
Apart from being an accommodation option, Fabrika offers pretty much everything. Besides cafes, bars and restaurants, there are art studios, workshops etc. Fabrika is a living hub inside a hipster neighborhood.
Dezerter Bazaar is the daily bazaar nearby train station. You can find daily local products from Tbilisi and it's a pretty good spot to observe the life in the city.
One of the most popular images from Tbilisi. Located in the Old Tbilisi this is the most famous and touristic bath in the baths region. Actually Tbilisi means warm place and reason behind this meaning is these baths.
Another historic church in Tbilisi. With King George statue the church stands near river Kura. From the outside of the church there is a beautiful river view.
Old mediaval fortress of Tbilisi. It is good point to watch the city from above, especially in the evenings with lights of the city. You can reach the fortress by walk or there is a cable car reaches the castle from the Rike Park.
The Mother of Georgia. Name describes itself. With holding wine cup in one hand, sword in the other one; demonstrates everyone gets what they deserve. Like Narikala this is also a pretty good spot to catch the sunset.
Like the airport, the main avenue of the Tbilisi is named after the Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli. You can see the Parliament and Opera building through the avenue. This gorgeous avenue ends in the Liberty Square.
With its striped exterior, Tbilisi Opera House is art center of the city. If you can catch a ballet or opera session while you are in Tbilisi don't miss it.
This medieaval looking cathedral's construction actually finished in 2004. It symbolizes the religious liberty of Georgia. One of the biggest religious buildings in Georgia.
Surprisingly new building like Sameba Cathedral. Chronicles of Georgia is gorgeous monument with its symbolic, history telling columns. I think it is a must to see.
Pretty famous building for its interesting structure. Basically it is a child theater, under the clock tower.
