Visit Seminyak

Lost Leblanc
I had the opportunity to spend about three weeks living in Petitenget, Seminyak - kind of where all the trendy restaurants are - and had a lot of amazing food, some amazing sunsets, and nights spent on Seminyak beach. Here are my top picks to enjoy your time here. ☝️ Be sure to explore all these places on the map by tapping the mapping icon in the upper right corner.

How Long to Stay

In my opinion, Seminyak is somewhere you could at least spend one day exploring the shops, restaurants, & bars.

If you want a quieter area to stay, I recommend staying in Canggu but traveling to Seminyak for the day.

How to Spend your Time

🍽 Eat

Eating is one of the highlights of this area, and these are my favorite places, in no particular order.

🛍 Shop

Seminyak doesn’t have a shortage of shopping available all around.

Be sure to check out Laksmana Street (Jalan Laksmana), home to some great coffee shops, and also has great shopping. I haven't been here yet but would love to go!

💆 Relax

Beach or Pool Day

There are tons of beaches in the area, or you might have a great pool at the place you're staying. Make time to chill out!

Get your hair done

One of the top, fun spots to do so is Blow Bar. They serve cocktails while you're getting your hair done!

Blow Bar Bali
@lostleblanc
If you're a lady, then you might be more interested in this. You can get your hair done, or your nails done, and the cool thing is there's a cocktail bar right in the middle, so you can have a drink during or afterward. It's a very trendy and interesting way you could spend your day.

Get a massage

For cheap spa treatments, just look on the side of the roads. It can be pot luck how good it will be, but you’ll be able to get cheap treatments: around $6-$12 USD for a full body massage.

Or, for something a fancier, check out:

The Spa at Villa Kubu
@lostleblanc
A really nice but expensive spa treatment. I had one of my most relaxing massages here & they have a great restaurant.

🏄 Surf or Yoga

Seminyak is along the beach so has surfing options and plenty of yoga studios all around.

🎥 Cheap movie

There are loads of theatres about & they can be pretty cheap to visit - a great way to get out of the rain.

🧑‍🍳 Cooking Class

You can do this anywhere in Bali but I’ve found Seminyak to be a particularly great area for cooking classes.

You can hire a cooking instructor to either come to your villa or you can go to one of the communal classes. Some classes actually take you through to the markets so you can look at the fresh ingredients of the day, see how they shop, see the ingredients that they choose, ands so on.

🌅 Watch the sunset

La Plancha Bali
@lostleblanc
Great place to grab a drink and watch the sunset from the beach. There are also warungs all over the beach if you're looking to grab some food. There will often be live music, and it's a fun social atmosphere.

🕺Go Out

Bars and nightlife are a fun option here. A few spots I like are:

Da Maria
@lostleblanc
One of the busiest clubs in Seminyak • Pricing: really expensive

Motel Mexicola
@lostleblanc
Great atmosphere • Food and drinks are very expensive but still tasty • Pricing: really expensive

Potato Head Beach Club
@lostleblanc
There is a minimum spend - so spend your whole day here by the beach or come for the nightlife • Probably one of the busiest places in all of Bali to go watch the sunset • I expected mediocre food and drinks but it was amazing • Pricing: above average - really expensive

Where to Stay

There are tons of options in the area. Below, I've picked out a few highlights.

Top Villas

The Kunja Villas & Spa
@lostleblanc
Roughly $320 USD / night for their one-bed villa and $800 USD / night for their three-bed villa (again good to share with friends) • Both Balinese style with open living despite being in the heart of Seminyak

The Dusun Villas Bali
@lostleblanc
Roughly $290 USD / night for their one-bed villa and $610 USD / night for their three-bed villa (great to share with friends)
