St. Lucia Favorites

[FREE GUIDE] Close family friends lived in St. Lucia for many years. Most all of my visits were of the local flavor and we only did a few touristy things. This guide points out a few of those things with notes on why we found them fun & interesting to do. I hope you find it helpful. Feel free to leave a tip and/or nice comment if your feel that it is. Hewanorra International Airport (IATA: UVF, ICAO: TLPL)
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Small airport and departures are little cramped if flights are arriving/leaving at the same time. Cute shops & a nice food court upstairs. No jetways for airplanes. You'll be in the elements arriving and departing.

Ladera Resort
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Beautiful resort. The only UNESCO Heritage Site resort on the island with open-air, rainforest style guest rooms. Our favorite farm to table restaurant is at this resort, Dasheene. The resort only has one restaurant. We've never stayed overnight, however. It's a beautiful resort & looks just like the pics posted online. A few things to note about Dasheene: *plenty of vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free options available *there is a dress code *make reservations

Calabash Cove Resort & Spa
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
A luxury boutique resort that has another one of our favorite restaurants, Windsong. Asian inspired & they serve for breakfast, lunch & dinner. They also have a dedicated vegan & vegetarian menu. Fun fact: Apparently it's Oprah Winfrey's favorite too.

Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
A Black-owned resort that consists of 5 properties total. I've only stayed at the beach resort & the marina properties. Staying at any of the resorts gives you access to the other properties and activities via a shuttle that runs between them. They also offer day passes if you want use the property facilities and aren't staying there. The passes can run between $80- $150 depending on they type of pass you want.

Bay Gardens Marina Haven
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
A favorite of the Bay Gardens properties is a very convenient property that has seen better days. It's not run down, but not top tier either. We love it for it's convenience mainly. We can walk to activities, food & shops in about 10 minutes time.

Rodney Bay Marina
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Though is mainly for the yachtie folks, there are some good places to eat, shop & hang out. Great atmosphere & super convenient if you're staying nearby. Restaurants, evening walks and Elena's Gelato keep us coming back.

Baywalk Shopping Mall
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Just like any mall you'd find in the states, but without all the gathering spots. Everything you need from convenience items to outfits. Lots of local shops. The grocery store has come in clutch for us a few times and I had no issue finding the brands I wanted. Prices are just ok. You are on an island after all.

St Lucia Sulphur Springs
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
We haven't done the organized tours here, but have been to botanical gardens & the mud bath separately. A real adventure. Pro tip: don't wear your best bathing suit to the mud baths. The stains will ruin it.

Castries Market
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Lively open-air flea market that has total St. Lucia vibes. Get just about everything you can think of here. We frequent for local fruits & souvenirs. Go early to beat the heat of the day.

Reduit Beach
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
Great beach for long walks. Good, clean sand & activities available. It's a public beach near downtown & can get busy. Also vendors are out hawking everything from jewelry to food; I've never found them to be pesky however. I've had a few anklets made right on the spot. Spinnakers restaurant is popular, but we often opt for Ms. Liz's rotis near the end of the beach.

Sugar Beach - public Beach
@GirlfriendAngieLifestyle
VERY expensive free beach. It's unclear if the Viceroy resort offers day passes and when they offer them. Also, you can't drive directly to the beach & may have to park then hike a huge hill if you're not a resort guest. All in all, a beautiful beach between the Pitons.
