FREE Comprehensive Food/Cafe Experience - Dine (Around) LA

These are my favorite places to dine around LA (from your yelper Elite 2022/2023 😉). I try to think about places that are YUM, but also a good value for what you’re paying. If you’re shelling out hundreds for dinner, it should always be good; but sometimes, you don’t want to spend that kind of money!

Girl & the Goat Los Angeles
@RxTravelBug
One of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles; have only been for dinner, but hear their brunch is phenomenal!

Coffee Connection

Great place to work out of, read casually, or just people watch! They have a personal parking lot across the street, so come spend a few hours if you want to break up the routine. Get their Mayan drink ;) half sweet. You WONT be disappointed- unless, of course, you are. Then I am sorry for that 😅. But I love this place!

Bodhi Kosher Thai

I’m not vegan/vegetarian, which this place specializes in, but I love this place for takeout. Their eggplant dish is absolutely divine!

I’ve tried a LOT of boba places around Los Angeles area, and I have to say that this is one of my favorite. It comes from the Bay Area, and the store just opened recently. If you’re feeling extra splurgey, you can get the big size boba cup that comes with a stuffed animal at the bottom (not in your drink 😂).

Bestia
@RxTravelBug
They have since expanded to other sister restaurants (Saffy's, Bavel), which are all good + good ambiance. In my opinion, bestia > Bavel > saffy's! It's italian style vs the sister restaurants are more Mediterranean

Bavel

I do have to add this to my list, still. Because everyone I know that's a foodie likes it also and everyone who's looked up restaurants that visits LA wants to try it. Their best dish is the oyster mushroom kebab ;) We splurged and got the lamb rack once, but don't think it was *exceptionally* worth the price.

Sushi Enya Little Tokyo
@RxTravelBug
This is one of the best *bang for your buck* sushi spots in LA! They have multiple locations around Los Angeles, but I have only tried this spot. Some of my friends have tried the Beverly Hills location, and they also highly recommend. Mix of sashimi/nigiri, but also rolls - solid spot.

Monkish Brewing Co.
@RxTravelBug
the ORIGINAL location! Better than Anaheim, with more selection - cute (sort of hole-in-the-wall feeling) converted brewery in an office building spot. They bring in a food truck and have music on weekend nights - good for groups and casual date spot. They have all sorts of IPAs (mostly)- not a huge selection of other things; some belgian beer, 2 cocktail mixes. Their doubles/triples taste quite delish. One of my favorite breweries in this area

FIG RESTAURANT
@RxTravelBug
My favorite spot for HAPPY HOUR (5-6pm daily), where everything is half-off. This makes things still quite normal pricing, but it's in the Fairmont - so what can you expect? Cute patio spot overlooking the pool. The beef tartare and Halloumi were my favorites here. More of a date spot or small group place, but we got seated in a private dining area with a group of 6 before - so could fit both.

Mariscos Jalisco
@RxTravelBug
Super hole-in-wall food truck spot. Take out to eat on the side of the street or at home; sometimes the indoor dining is open. But this place is DIVINE! Everything was so good. Queue for the line, so give yourself 30 min on weekends

Wirtshaus German Restaurant & Beer Garden
@RxTravelBug
This place gets OKTOBERFEST vibes with music - so try to go around that time! Good german beers. Very fun vibe - great for groups. The sausages had unique flavors - they were overall OK. Would come back for beers and ambiance

Chong Qing Special Noodles
@RxTravelBug
Unbelievably priced in this market. Can still get yourself some really good noodles for $10 + appetizers in the $5-7 range What we got: chongqing noodles, biang Biang noodles, pig ears + takeout Dan Dan noodles and chicken w/ spicy sauce - best was the biang biang noodles then Dan Dan noodles then chongqing noodles (in our opinion), but all 3 were pretty good. - pig ears were a good choice to change up the flavor & consistency - would pass on the chicken w/ spicy sauce. Not sure if it was because we took to go but it really was just boiled chicken w/ spicy sauce on top - not mixed well
