August in Barcelona 2024
What’s Barcelona like in August?
August is one of the busiest times to visit Barcelona. It’s at the height of high season, but because of the vacation schedule in a Spain, many locals take the second two weeks off and go elsewhere. There tends to be a bit of a balance with all the visitors coming in and the locals leaving. One of the biggest things you need to keep in mind is that because of these vacations, you might often find some of the most popular restaurants closed towards the end of the month. Check the opening times! This won’t affect the big tourist attractions and because the sun doesn’t set until late, you’ll see some extended hours.
Apart from that August is hot 🥵, and humid! Keep that in mind during the day and drink water. The nights are really nice and you’ll be comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt.
