The best places to visit in Groningen

Wadapartja

Wadapartja
@marjoleinyourtravelguide
The atmosphere at Wadapartja is one of the reasons I keep coming back. It is a cosy restaurant with a vintage look. At the menu you will find recipes with a Groningse twist. And the name is typical Gronings as well.

The newest highlight of Groningen. It's a library annex cinema with a lot of places for studying or working. You will find Stach near the entrance and NOK in the top of the Forum for some food. Go to the rooftop for the best view over the city.

Poelestraat
@marjoleinyourtravelguide
Groningen is a student city. There are more than 50.000 students in Groningen. For going out, I think it is the best city in the Netherlands. With bars, cafes and clubs open sometimes till 07.00, you get never bored. The best place to go, is the Poelestraat. Here you can go from one place to another, which is what we do in Groningen.

I am living in the Netherlands my whole life. Besides traveling a lot outside The Netherlands, I love to discover my own country when I am home. You can find detailed guides with my favorite places in The Netherlands, but also from the destinations I've visited when I am traveling. I love to travel slow, so I focus on slow travel. This could be in nature, but also train travel, island, solo travel, local culture and special accommodations.
