I'm not a big shopper, but when I buy something, I want it to be great. Not necessarily expensive, but typical of the area and preferably from a small business!Â
Venice is GREAT for that. There are tons of great artists with studio shops, where you can buy straight from them and watch them work while you shop!Â
A good rule of thumb is to try and pay with cash when you can. Every little bit matters for these small businesses! However, most still take credit card.Â

A great souvenir spot! Three women handmade wooden toys, puzzles and art. Many are Venice-themed but not all. Great gift for kids and adults!

My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny.
