Restaurants

1. nueve

Restaurante Nueve
@isabelderteano
This is the BEST WINE BAR in Bogota, no jokes. It is also one of the best restaurants I’ve tried here. The wine list is impressive; you can order any wine by the glass, it does not matter the size. The sommeliers are super friendly and professional; they will recommend just what you want.  Moving to the menu, everything is delicious, with a Spanish touch mixed with Colombian products. We told the waiter to surprise us with the plates, and they sure did!

2. siga

Siga
@isabelderteano
I do love a great wine bar! Different to 'nueve restaurante', Siga is a more modern concept. Siga has a small menu, but everything is delicious. They have a great wine repertoire with excellent quality. The atmosphere is lovely for a date, a friend's dinner… anything!

3. café bar universal

Café Bar Universal
@isabelderteano
Love the atmosphere here, mostly at night. It can be a brunch/lunch place, but I recommend you go for dinner and cocktails. The menu is short, but everything on it is delicious. They have small plates, but they also have large ones, such as the steak frites (which is excellent). You must try their pisco! Also, they have live music some days of the week, I have yet to experience it, but if I were you, I'd try to find out!

4. árbol del pan

Árbol del Pan
@isabelderteano
Best almond croissant ever! Everything is delicious and can even be a place to work. It can be a bit noisy at peak times, but the wifi is excellent. There are two in Bogotá, one in Zona G and the other close to Zona T. I really recommend anything on the menu, but the croissant is a must. If you like tea, they have a great white tea.

5. libertario coffee roasters

Libertario Coffee Roasters - Calle 70a
@isabelderteano
They have fantastic coffee which you can also buy. They offer wide varieties of coffee and different filtered methods. They also have a coffee-tasting experience, which seems pretty cool from what I have seen! It is also a place where you can go and work if you're looking for coffee shops with good Wi-Fi AND good coffee. They have an outdoor seating area which I find very pleasant to go late in the morning on weekends.

6. casa mamá luz

Casa Mamá Luz
@isabelderteano
You need to try the ajiaco! Casa mamá luz started with a lady selling ajiaco (a traditional Colombian soup) in the street; she was so popular that she opened a little restaurant in the historic centre of Bogotá.

Stay

Zona G, Chapinero

During my six months, I stayed in Zona G as I was very close to work. I recommend it; it's close to many restaurants and supermarkets. You could also try to stay in Zona T and Parque del Virrey, I'm a residential area with also very nice restaurants and shops.

However, these places are a 10-minute drive with Uber, and it's very cheap so any option would work!
