Day 1: Exploring Downtown Halifax
Breakfast:
Start your day off with breakfast at the Dilly Dally Cafe!
Morning Activities:
Explore this historic fort, offering stunning views of the city and a glimpse into Halifax's military past. Spend a few hours wandering the grounds, or join one of the free walking tours they have if you'd like a better glimpse into some of it's history.
Wander through these beautifully landscaped gardens, a serene oasis in the heart of the city.
If you're looking for some caffeine to fuel the rest of the day, I recommend stopping into Coffeology.
Lunch:
Enjoy a waterfront lunch at this Italian restaurant. Their seafood pasta and pizzas are highly recommended, and they have a fantastic lobster roll as well!
Afternoon Activities:
Dive into maritime history, including exhibits on the Titanic and Halifax Explosion.
Stroll along the picturesque waterfront. Stop at local shops, grab an ice cream cone, and enjoy the views.
Grab a pint or pick up a few beers at Garrison Brewing Company! They have so many kinds to try, so you can opt for a flight if you'd like to try a few!
Dinner:
Halifax has so many incredible restaurants, so here are a few to choose from for your first dinner out.
Day 2: Nature and Local Goodies
Breakfast:
Grab breakfast and a specialty coffee to start your day at Steve-O-Reno's!
Morning Activities:
Enjoy the serene surroundings and ocean views along the trails.
Wander through stalls filled with local produce, crafts, and artisanal goods.
If you are there on a Saturday, you also have the option of checking out the Brewery Market as well!
Lunch:
If you didn't end up getting food at either of the markets, you could opt to try Halifax's famous donair!
And if that doesn't peak your interest, try Mary's African Cuisine!
Afternoon Activities:
Head to the waterfront and take a kayak tour around Georges Island! Note that this is only available in the summer.
Dive into Halifax's brewing history with a guided tour of this iconic brewery.
Dinner:
Indulge in fine dining at this historic restaurant known for its seafood and steak.
And if you're looking for some after dinner drinks, check out this wine car, where you can try a ton of local Nova Scotian wines.
Day 3: Day Trip to Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove
Start your day off early with breakfast and a coffee at Cabin Coffee before hitting the road!
Β Morning Activities:
Visit the historic town of Lunenburg, where you can see the iconic Blue Nose ship, the one that's on the Canadian 10 cent coin! Walk along the main street and visit the local shops, as well as stroll along the waterfront.Β
Lunch:
You can't go to Nova Scotia without having a lobster roll - and Tom's Lobster Shack is THE place to get it!
Afternoon Activities:
Visit this iconic Nova Scotian fishing village. You won't help but become captivated by the rugged coastline and the famous lighthouse! Spend a few hours walking around this area.
Just 2km away from Peggy's Cove is Polly's Cove, that has some of the most gorgeous costal viewpoints ever! This 4km loop hike is absolutely stunning, and will give you a break from the crowds at Peggy's Cove.Β
If you have some extra time:
Head to Sir Sandford Fleming Park and climb the Dingle Tower for a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Northwest Arm.
Head back into Halifax for dinner.
Dinner:
Sample innovative and locally sourced dishes in a vibrant setting.
