A 3-day Itinerary that includes:
• the Malecon, downtown life, food spots, Sayulita, & local excursions day by day
• exact locations to make your travel easy
• direct links to book excursions
• tips & tricks to help you on the way!
(Recommended for young adults)
-when you exit the airport you can take a taxi, or also Uber! (DiDi is another app you can use this is mexicos version of “UBER/LYFT”)
-your Uber is NOT allowed to pick up directly outside the airport To catch your Uber / DiDi, immediately go left when you exit the airport. There will be a pedestrian bridge over the road. Take the bridge to the other side. Here you can wait for your driver!
(we paid about $9-11US for the Uber to take us from the airport to our airport in Centro)
This spot is perfect if you’re looking for something centrally located and affordable. We were able to walk everywhere on the Malecon! The rooftop is also an awesome hang out spot!
If you’re looking for a luxury option - this is your place! Garza Blanca is simply amazing. The views are beyond stunning. I recommend for honeymooners, and travelers who really want to detach! There’s a family friends tower & also an adult- only tower.
Great food and strong drinks! The view is also a perfect spot to people watch & listen to music.
This area in general has a LOT of awesome food and drink options 👌🏼
-you can take a taxi, an Uber, or the local bus (it’s about 45-55 minutes from puerto vallarta)
-a taxi/ Uber will likely cost you anywhere from $30-75US. (Depending on the time of day)
-I recommend going earlier in the morning (8-10am) traffic after 12/1pm can make the trip much longer (1.5hours) and more expensive.
-PRO TIP: if you plan to stay later than 10pm to enjoy the night life- it might make more sense to just get a hotel room there! The taxis don’t always run late back to Puerto Vallarta (and if they do it will be more expensive). I recommend leaving by 7pm or just stay the night and leave in the morning.
An awesome beach town that’s the perfect day trip! It’s a beautiful little beach town with a lively night scene & house music everywhere!
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
-sayulita has notoriously had recent issues with their sewage which has led to problems with nuerovirus! Ask locals about the ocean water before getting in, and try to only get drinks that are pre-bottled or in containers.
Perfect spot to grab a drink and hang out by the infinity pool & enjoy the view. When we went, there was a DJ as well! My entrance was free and my husband was $17US. It was worth it- we stayed until sunset.
Take an All-inclusive boat tour from puerto magico! The tour goes to Los Arcos & Playa Las Animas. It’s a beautiful way to see Puerto Vallarta from the water and explore more of Jalisco!
Playa Las Animas is the second stop on the boat tour- it’s a nice relaxing beach with a few restaurants. We enjoyed the calmness & change of pace! You can also do parasailing here, banana boat rides, and horseback riding.
-The restaurant food wasn’t the best, but the environment was nice!
