Guide to Hokkaido limited character merchandises and experiences at Sapporo New Chitose Airport☃️
The Fun Side of New Chitose Airport Nobody Told You About
If this is your first time visiting Hokkaido via New Chitose Airport, brace yourself as this airport is not here to play! The number of shops here are countless and could be overwhelming for first time visitors. If you are into locally exclusive goods, limited food releases, and Purikura (Japanese photo sticker booth) with cute Sanrio backgrounds exclusive to New Chitose Airport, this guide has your back! Come with us to hunt for these collectibles together!
Recommended Time to Spend Here
Honestly speaking, one could EASILY spend a whole day here. The New Chitose Airport is so big that it reminds us of the Tokyo Station underground mall, but with even more fun things to do! With that in mind, you can kind of estimate how much time you’ll need to allocate here.
💡Pro tip: Leave this destination for your last day (you don’t say, but hear me out). Choose a later/night flight and arrive at the airport early, so you may spend the day at the airport and board straight on the plane without ever having to worry about missing the plane! We have missed the plane a few times as we were too busy shopping elsewhere in Japan…this just makes sense. Trust us!
