Pasticceria Sandri
@MementoMartina
Beautiful historical artisanal pastry shop since 1860 in Perugia’s main drag. A great spot to stop at for a coffee, a decadent pastry, or a quick sandwich for a light lunch.
Tip: ask for a table outside to enjoy some great people-watching.

La Taverna
@MementoMartina
My favorite refined traditional Umbrian restaurant in Perugia. Make sure you book in advance because it fills up!
Recommended dishes:
- champenoise sweet Cannara onion tart tatin with pecorino Romano fondue and black truffle;
- Umbrian prosciutto;
- fava bean and artichoke soup;
- homemade gnocchi or pappardelle with Umbrian ragù;
- beef fillet medallions with black truffle;
- roast pork shank;
- roast chicken;
- Baci Perugina chocolate mousse.
Ask for their special homemade chocolate liquor at the end of your meal. Yum!

Verace
@MementoMartina
Neapolitan-style pizzeria with traditional and contemporary pizzas in a little alley in the center of Perugia.
My favorite is the fresh mozzarella di bufala pizza.

La Pecora Nera Polpette & Co.
@MementoMartina
Italy’s very first “meatball bar”! It might not be all that traditional, but it sure is fun - and delicious.
Veggie, fish, and meat meatballs of every kind + sodas, wine, and beer.

POSTOGIUSTO TASTE
@MementoMartina
Fun bowl bar for a quick, (potentially) healthy lunch. Choose your bowl’s size, what base you’d like (pasta, rice, salad, and more), and up to 10 extra ingredients.
One of two outposts by the same company, pop your head two doors up for their made-to-order panini sandwiches.

Umbria National Gallery
@MementoMartina
Originally opened to the public in 1863, Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria houses one of the richest art collections in Italy and is, at the same time, a treasure chest of memories for the city of Perugia.
Mostly religious artwork from the 13th to the 19th century.
Located on the upper floors of Perugia’s Palazzo dei Priori, seat of the City Council since the Middle Ages and the only Italian public building to house a large national museum.
3500 square metres of exhibition space over 40 rooms, a tower and a chapel, for an 800-year-long journey through the history of Italian art.
You can pre-purchase tickets (5-10€) and reserve your visit at the link below.

Perugia Sotterranea - Area Archeologica
@MementoMartina
Visit Perugia’s archaeological underground to discover 15 meters of layers of architecture built over the course of 2,000+ years by the Etruscans and the Romans, and learn about the city’s fascinating history.
If possible, I recommend bringing something to cover up, because it can get quite chilly. No special shoes required, but do watch your step.
