When is the Best Time to Visit Edinburgh?

Edinburgh can work in every season. Summer (June to August) features pleasant weather (for Scotland, don't get me wrong it will probably rain) and lively festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Spring and autumn offer milder weather (but will still rain) and fewer crowds, making exploration more relaxed. Winter, with its Christmas markets and decorations, brings a touch of magic to the city (and more rain).

Where to Stay?

For family-friendly and budget-friendly stays, consider hostels, budget hotels, or highly-rated properties available on booking.com. Airbnb options may also suitable, finding family rooms isn't always easy.
