Travel Overview

I designed this guide for you to know which beach you should visit when you are in Bali. There are about 7 beaches that you should know about. There are several beaches that are a little bit hard to get there. I will explain it all to you!

Diamond Beach

The Diamond Beach is located in Nusa Penida, near the southeastern Indonesian island of Bali and a district of Klungkung Regency. Diamond Beach was famous for its high cliffs and beautiful blue ocean. If you want to go there, you must join a ferry tour that is located in Sanur Beach. It only takes 30 minutes. After you arrive, you can rent a motorcycle (but be careful, because the road is very extreme), so you can rent a car with a driver. There are 2 sides of Nusa Penida that have a beautiful view of the sea on each side. You can go to The Diamond Beach first and look for the other side for later.

I want to go to the beach, how to get there?

After you arrive at the parking lot, you can just walk to see the beach from the top. It's so beautiful! But if you want to feel the water, you can go down, but you must be careful! It's really extreme foot walking, you must climb down thousands of stairs and also some rock. There are a lot of monkeys that you must pass and don't touch or give them food. It's dangerous, just be careful!

Suluban Beach

Suluban beach is located in Uluwatu, Bali. This hidden beach has two different sections of view. I've been there 3 times. For the first time I came to Suluban, there were three sections of beach with different points of view. But the third one has already not been seen for now, because the water has become higher. The first section has a high ceiling of caves. It will be beautiful when the sun is on top. The second section is a beach with many rocks. To get here you must walk a bit on some big rocks. This beach is really beautiful when the sun comes down, at sunset.

I want to go to the beach, how to get there?

You can park your vehicle (car or motorcycle) in the parking lot. Then you walk down many stairs. I can say it is medium-hard, because this activity can make you really tired. When you walk, you pass several stores that sell traditional goods, take a look and get some goods to bring them to your country!

Balangan Beach

Balangan beach was the first beach that I was really amazed at. I've been there 3 times. You can enjoy the beach from the top of the cliff and have a picnic on the cliff when you want to see the sunset. It can be the most romantic moment. If you want to go to the beach, you can ride the motorcycle or car, and park your vehicle in the parking lot (which is a cliff). You can take a walk, just walk down the stairs ( it's really easy to walk down) and you can sit on the sand and enjoy the breeze of the ocean.

Gunung Payung Beach

Gunung Payung Beach is located in Kuta, Bali. It's a beautiful beach with white sand. You can play canoe here and enjoy the sea. Many tourists come here to sunbathe. Because the sun and the weather are really nice. Gunung Payung beach is easy to access, but you have to pay for several things. The first one is the entrance fee. You must pay to enter the parking lot (motorcycle or car). After you park your vehicle, you can walk and find the shuttle post. You can get a shuttle service (take a photo or save the driver's number, because you have to call them to get you back to the parking lot). If you are with your parents, I suggest you take this shuttle, because the way to the beach is steep and far. FYI: it's a bit hard to get a signal at the beach. If you can't find a signal, just wait or find someone you can ask for help to call the driver.

Virgin Beach

Virgin beach is located in Karangasem, East Bali. It's called Virgin Beach because this beach was quite private before. But now this beach already famous. If you don't want your skin to get sunburn, this beach is fit for you, because they have a super high cliff at the side that covers up the beach from the sun, but not all, just some area. You can try the coconut water and relax on the lounge chair, or just have fun at the beach. To go to this beach, you can ride a motorcycle or a big car(especially a jeep) because the road has many rocks and holes, so sedans can't pass this way. Come to this beach from 3:00 p.m. so you can enjoy it until the evening.

Melasti Beach

Melasti Beach is a famous beach for a pre-wedding. Many couples come and get their photo here, because the areas around this beach have beautiful edges. To get there, you can ride a motorcycle or car, and park it in the parking lot. There are no stairs, so you can walk to the edge of the sea and enjoy the beach. Tips: wear your sandals, because the coral is a bit sharp and your feet can injured, but if you be careful, you can walk without sandals. This beach is really hot, because there no cave around it, so make sure to apply your sunblock!

Tanah Lot

Tanah lot is located at Tabanan Regency. Tanah lot is not just a beach, but this is a sacral place. There is a big temple and a cave with bats and snakes (don't worry. the animals will not go outside the cave). You must wear long pants, skirt, or kamben (Balinese Fabrics) to respect the people and also the sacral place. This beach is very beautiful when the sun comes down. You can go up to the big coral and take a photo with the temple as a background and also the sunlight will light your skin. This beach can make you sunburnt. Whenever I come here, I always get sunburned. Make sure to apply your sunblock!
