This is truly one of the best kept secrets in Philly that can do it all! Fresh made pasta at night with a menu that rotates just often enough, weekly gelato flavors, pastries on the weekends AND the best breakfast sandwiches in the city on Saturday and Sunday.

Come for the views, stay for the fritto misto. This Sicilian restaurant sits atop the 8th floor of a shuttered vocational school built in the 1920s.

It’s actually embarrassing how much I come here.. and what more is there to say? The best steak frites and hospitality you can find.

A short (but totally worth it) drive outside of the city. A family owned market with well-prices oyster focused food and amazing rotating specials.

One of the most special sushi and izakaya restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s like a dive bar and fine dining had a baby. If you plan just right, you can snag a res to the highly coveted omakase experience behind the curtain at the back of the restaurant. But if not, you can drop into the izakaya portion of Royal anytime with no reservation, where you absolutely will not be disappointed. Be sure to ask your server about the expansive sake menu.
