$ | A local favourite, this place has some of the best and cheapest Mee Rebus (yellow noodles in a peanut gravy), Soto Ayam (chicken noodle soup) and Bubur Ayam (chicken porridge) that you can find in Singapore. Been eating here since I was a child and the flavour has stayed the same through all the years. Definitely a place to try!

$ | This small stall at the Seah Im Food Centre is most well-known for it's Nasi Goreng Ayam, a delectable plate of fried rice with crispy fried chicken and a kick-ass sambal on the side. There's always a long queue here so be prepared to wait for your turn.

$ | One of the top bakeries in Singapore serving freshly-baked breads and pastries made from scratch. They sell out fast each day, so check their Instagram for daily/ weekend specials and come early to secure your goodie before it runs out!

$-$$ | Serving homey traditional Malay and Indonesian cuisine, this Michelin-recognised restaurant near the iconic Sultan Mosque serves hearty meals at an affordable price. Pair your rice with their signature dishes such as the Sundanese Grilled Chicken, the rich Lemak Siput and the tasty Sambal Goreng.

$-$$ | One of the best places to savour halal authentic Vietnamese food in Singapore. Try their Mini Crepes, Hot Bowl Beef Pho, Stir-fry Beef Banh Mi and Broken Rice dishes, and complete your meal with the creamy Avocado Cold Coffee for a remarkable dining experience you won't forget. Highly recommended!

$$-$$$ | My favourite here is the Smoked Duck Lemak Cili Padi Pasta, a TMC signature dish of creamy, spicy sauce with succulent smoked duck breast. Other recommendations include the Angus Ribeye Masak Merah and Classic Ondeh-Ondeh cake. Portions are huge so I would suggest sharing one main dish and one starter between 2 pax (you can always order more if it's not enough!). Several locations available.

$$$ | The perfect location for a lifetime celebration such as birthdays and anniversaries. The all-you-can-eat restaurant provides seasonal menus of Asian and International cuisine, and hosts an impressive seafood selection. It's pricey but worth it for a special event.
