Dresden one day guide
Start your day at the famous Zwinger Palace, one of Dresden's most popular attractions. Explore the stunning baroque architecture, fountains, and gardens while learning about its history as a hub for art and culture.
Next, head to the Frauenkirche, a beautiful Lutheran church that was destroyed during World War II and rebuilt after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Take in the stunning views of Dresden from the top of the church's dome and marvel at the intricate details of the church's interior. Entrance is free, but if you wish to go on top - you need to buy ticket.
Walk through the history of Saxony checking Fürstenzug. Magnificent art work, which is located in heart of Dresden city cent
For lunch, try some authentic German cuisine at one of the city's many restaurants. Some popular options include Bratwurst, Schnitzel, and Kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes). My personal favorite is Flammkuchen from Wilma Wunder 🤤🤤
After lunch, visit the Dresden Castle, which houses several museums, including the famous Green Vault. Here you'll find an impressive collection of rare jewels, gemstones, and other treasures.
Take a stroll along the Elbe River, which runs through the heart of Dresden. Admire the city's skyline and relax in one of the many parks along the riverbank.
Finish your day with a visit to the Semper Opera House, one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. You can either catch a show or take a guided tour of the building.
Of course, there's plenty more to see and do in Dresden, but this itinerary should give you a great overview of the city's rich history and culture!
Whenever I am in Dresden I love to spend some time in Großer Garden. If you are visiting with kids, do not miss Dresden Zoo.
