Uncover the magic of Jordan! 🌍

Our trip was meticulously woven through these key steps: 

- AEGEAN AIRLINES : Paris CGD - Amman Queen Alia. 

Our tickets were slightly pricier as we opted for a one-way journey. Following our visit to Jordan, we continued our trip to Turkey, and from there, we made our return to France. 

I recommend considering a November departure for your Jordanian adventure. During this period, round-trip tickets from France were priced at approximately €350 per person. Not only do you enjoy favorable temperatures, but the reduced amount of tourists also enhances the overall experience. 

🚖 Note that regardless of your arrival time in Amman, you will have the possibility to take a comfortable taxi to your accomodation. You might be pleased by the modern taxis. 

📱  I recommend getting a local SIM card upon arrival at the airport. Even at our 3:30 am arrival, everything was open. There are various SIM card options available, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your data needs. Prices are fixed at the airport shops. We paid our SIM card 10 JOD.

🚗  If you are considering renting a car, as we did, you will be pleased to know that you can pick it up directly at the airport, and the service operates 24/7. We rented a car through booking.com for a total of 8 days, and we paid €265, including insurance. The roads in Jordan are very good, making driving easier. However, it's essential to be cautious of speed bumps as they are everywhere. While driving in heavy traffic may seem intimidating, the roads are well-maintained and highly navigable. Having visited other countries like Morocco, Tunisia, or Senegal, I can confidently say that driving in Jordan is comparatively easier. 

💵  Additionally, you can withdraw cash at the airport. I advise confirming that your card allows withdrawals at any ATM. 

⛽ Our car was quite basic, automatic but without air conditioning. Since we visited in November, the weather was warm, but the natural breeze was sufficient. In terms of fuel, our car was fuel-efficient, and we spent approximately €150 on petrol, while we traveled from the north to the south.

 If you don't hold an Arabic passport, I recommend you to get the Jordan Pass. This way you won't need to pay for a visa and you will enjoy significant discounts on various tourist attractions. You can get all the information and purchase your jordan pass on this website: 

It's unfortunate but Wadi Mujib is closed in November. We weren't able to see it.

On the other hand, all Arabic passport holders receive the same pricing as Jordanian citizens and are exempt from visa fees. The cost of the jordan pass is 100€ per person. Ensure you purchase the Jordan Pass, and before leaving the airport, during customs clearance, present this document. In return, they will give you your visa.

 ✅ Arrival at Amman Queen Alia Airport 

We decided to stay in the same accommodations in every city to avoid moving around with our belongings and to prevent additional fatigue.

AMMAN : From the 3rd until the 5th of November

Honestly, we loved this apartment. It's exactly like the pictures - clean, secure, modern. However, for those looking to cook, it's not well-equipped. The food is very affordable in Jordan, so we didn't cook.The host is super friendly and sent us fantastic recommendations. There's "reem shawerma" just 5 minutes away, so really close. It's EXCELLENT and costs only 1 JOD. Let me tell you, we ate a lot of shawarma; the sauce is fantastic. Highly recommended! Additionally, the apartment is conveniently located next to the city center and the famous rainbow street. We were able to walk there, leaving the car behind and exploring the city on foot, except for a few mosques where we needed to drive. 

This apartment is genuinely cozy and affordable compared to the prices of accommodations in Madaba. While it didn't steal our hearts, it was satisfactory. Everything was clean, and the owners are very kind. However, the city center is about a 30-minute walk away, and the streets in this neighborhood don't have many lights. I wouldn't recommend it for a solo female traveler.

There aren't many affordable accommodations near Petra and the historical site, so our options were limited. The accommodation is okay, but it didn't quite capture our hearts. The room we rented lacked warmth. However, the price includes a good breakfast, and the host can provide lunch bags, which is very convenient for visiting Petra and avoiding high food costs on-site. This accommodation is also very close to the historical site and the city center. I recommend it for its value for money.
