I’ve actually visited Santorini twice, two separate times and it is absolutely my favorite place I’ve ever been so far in the world. I recommend staying in Fira if you are into nightlife. It’s very centrally located and I feel like it has a little more to do. If not Oia is a lot more quiet at night and the best place to see the amazing sunset. Fira is also a tad cheaper to stay in than Oia.  

Our first visit we rented an Airbnb that was amazing. It was a townhome and you actually can rent both sides if you have a larger group. It has a shared pool and it’s own private outdoor space. Fruit platter and bottles of juice and water on arrival. The hosts were very accommodating and helped us set up a rental car that was brought right to the house. This place was about a 30 min walk into fira town, and about a 7 min drive away. Very easy to drive and park in fira town. 

Santorini Airbnb

My second visit we also stayed in Fira, but in a hotel instead. THIS LOCATION IS AMAZING! 🤩 the room we got was small but worth it for sure. Especially for it being our second time in Santorini, and we already had done the “luxury” experience at the Airbnb previously, we opted for a cheaper option to be closer to the action. There are shops and restueant right outside of your door. Which makes everything very easily accessible to walk to. And surprisingly not very noisy. 

Central Cliff Suites

Oh my goodness! This was the BEST experience! All the crew on the catamaran tour were amazing. They provided lunch and drinks (wine and beer)! And took us to two different spots to dock and swim, and watch the sunset. This was an all day event for us. And well worth it. It includes hotel pick up and drop off. The only issue we had is the captain was very particular about the music and didn’t allow us to play our own. But other than that it was great. 

-There is a taxi stand where you can easily walk to and grab a taxi that can take you to the beach, Oia town, Or around the island.

-Renting atv’s is another great way to see the island! They’re fun and commonly used in Santorini. 

-If you don’t want to rent a car or ATV, then catch the local bus! There are bus stops that will take you all around the island. Very easy and cheap to ride. Just a little bit more time-consuming.

Catamaran Cruise

-It is a TON of walking! And uneven streets. Bring good shoes. 

- Definitely Don’t forget to visit other islands! Santorini is not all that Greece has to offer. Taking the ferry is very easy. Even if you go for a day trip.
