⭐️ Experience the real heart and soul of Rome through your glass. Grab this guide for recommendations on some of the best places to grab a well-deserved vacation drink, from aperitivo hour to local wine bars to classy cocktails.
Wine and cocktails are flowing in Rome from the early aperitivo hour (looking at you at 10:30 AM Aperol spritz) through to the early morning hours of the next day.
As you stroll the streets of the eternal city, have some time to kill before your next museum reservation, or are looking for an after-dinner drinking scene, the places in this guide are all uniquely different from one another so there is something for every traveler, circumstance, or mood.
Each place on the list was carefully selected based on their offerings when it comes to drinks and atmosphere. They are also conveniently located in the more centrally located parts of the city, some just a few minutes walk from the next if you want to stop by more than one, which I fully endorse.
From classic enoteche, to rooftop bars with city views, to dark and moody spaces perfect for an intimate moment shared over a glass of natural wine, there is something for every drink lover on this hit list.

Relais Fontana Di Trevi

This tiny rooftop bar is just steps away from the Trevi Fountain yet still remains out of sight from the swarms of tourists.
They open the bar around 12pm.
Enter the hotel and head up the stairs. At the top will be an elevator to the roof.
You will find unmatched views of the Trevei Fountain in an intimate setting.
Come for a mid-day spritz or evening negroni before dinner.

Latteria Trastevere
For a peaceful ambiance and natural wines.
Latteria Trastevere
@itslauraining
This wine bar in the heart of the Trastevere neighborhood has a peaceful ambiance, great wines, and delicious snacks.
The outdoor seating is situated under a canopy of greenery with more seating across the cobblestone street just off of a small piazza.
It has the feeling of being tucked away while just steps from the hustle and bustle of this neighborhood.
Try the wines, gin and tonic varieties (with some Italian gin options) and the antipasto platters.

Curated guides, tailor-made itineraries, and insider travel tips for unforgettable adventures in Italy.
Specializing in local food, wine, cocktails, and unique exploration - particularly in Rome but also in regions and towns north to south. I have experience planning trips to destinations ranging from small towns in Tuscany with a population of 29, to Italy's largest cities.
My recommendations are carefully selected based on quality, location, and overall experience. Typically in centrally located areas so that you won't have to travel too far from any city center to find the best of the best - without falling into tourist traps!
Ideal for solo travelers or couples, whether you're seasoned visitors or first-timers, my guides cater to those seeking a less mainstream, more DIY adventure with a mix of traditional sightseeing and authentic local experiences that emphasize the flavors of the country.
