Hi! Welcome to a guide for spending 24 hours (or more) in Zagreb. The guide starts from the early morning and goes until after midnight. That way the guide gives you a detailed overview of things to do in Zagreb if you're here just for a day (and of course, if you're here longer :). The guide includes food, culture, architecture, art, etc. Enjoy!

6:00 am

As the famous quote says "The early bird gets the worm". So, get up on your feet at 6:00 am and pack your backpack because you're going for a prolonged walk. I know, this may sound too adventures and "too much" for a first thing to do in Zagreb but, it is worth it. Your starting point should be on "Ban Josip Jelačić Square":

Also, a quick tip...you may ask yourself, what should I pack in my backpack for this walk? Pack a picnic blanket, some snacks, a book or a pair of headphones, etc.

Another question you may have, what Croatian snacks should I buy for this picnic? I would recommend "Kviki štapići" (salty sticks), "Vic krekeri" (salty crackers), "Napolitanke" (sandwich biscuits made of wafers and chocolate-cream cream). But, don't pack too many snacks because your breakfast will be somewhere else :)

Now that you're ready, you can choose to walk to your next destination or take a bus:

a) you chose walking:

If you chose walking, it will take you about 50 minutes to your destination (that's why I said earlier that it is kind of a prolonged walk). You can start from "Ban Josip Jelačić Square" and go through Ilica, on the West. Walk till you see a statue of Andrija Kačić Miošić:
