In and Around Bariloche - The Best Spots
San Carlos de Bariloche
San Carlos de Bariloche, also simply known as Bariloche, lies at the foot of the Andes, on the picturesque Nahuel Huapi Lake, and attracts visitors all year round. Clear lakes, impressive mountains and dense forests make Bariloche a true natural paradise and the area offers numerous hiking opportunities and excursion destinations.
It is a popular vacation destination all year around and is known as Argentina's Switzerland. The Swiss influence is reflected in the architecture of the buildings, giving it a unique and delightful blend of alpine charm and the city is also famous for its chocolate.
Prices
The topic of money in Argentina is somewhat complex due to the unstable economic situtation and constantly rising inflation. During my 2-month trip, prices increased several times. That's why in my guide, I've provided prices in Euros for reference.
Chocolate
The two largest and most famous "Chocolaterías" are Rapanui and Mamuschka. Of course, there are also numerous smaller shops that offer a wide array of artisan chocolates, pralines, nougat, alfajores, pastries and other sweet delights to savor.
