Coined "Venice of the North," this city is sure to capture your heart. Experience the beauty and history slowly. Below, you will find a list of places to visit while in Brugge.

According to the locals I spoke with, the months of April-June and September-October are the best times to be here. If you wait too long and stay in July-August, you will experience the heat and crowds, and if you go between November-February it will be cold and rainy. However, there is a magical Christmas market and festive atmosphere if you can bundle up enough.

To get the most out of Brugge and surrounding areas, I would recommend a stay of at least 3 days. That will allow you to experience this city fully and slowly. 

Europe is known for its public transportation, and Brugge is no different. Easily accessible for walking and biking, but with buses available if you prefer.

- 👣 Walking: The cheapest, and often most rewarding, form of transportation out there! In many instances, this option takes no more than 15 minutes longer than it would take public transportation to reach a destination. It's easy to hit that 10,000-step goal here!

- 🚲 Bicycle / Scooter Rental: Perhaps you want to take in all the sights, but walking isn't the answer. De Ketting and Benny's Bike Shop are both great rental shop options.

- 🚤 Boat Tour: For a customized, private experience, you can hire a boat tour for a unique way to experience the city. Usually, a 30-minute ride will start at around 10-12€ per person.

- 🚍 Bus: The city buses on the De Lijn system connect the city center to outer neighborhoods and the train station. Buy a day pass for under 10€ or a single journey ticket for under 4€.

- 🚊 Train: The Bruges Train Station is ready to connect you to other major Belgian cities multiple times a day. Keep your digital or paper ticket ready to present to authorities when asked.
