Mighty Mocktails - Zero-Proof drinks in Victoria

Mighty Mocktails - Zero-Proof drinks in Victoria

CJ K
Maybe you don't like the taste of alcohol, have stopped drinking for medical reasons, or are on a sober journey. No matter the reason I know how tricky it can be to find good zero-proof options that aren't just pop or sparkling water (like honestly, those shouldn't even count). You deserve yummy drinks too so you are in the right place. While zero-proof is becoming more popular (YAY) it isn't as common as it should be. So, I have put together a list of places that I have been to (and enjoyed) that clearly list their options out, or I know have options because I have asked (but come on places just list them out already). This map is ever growing and I will add to it as I try more places that I would recommend. Ps. the food is pretty good at most these places too.

Tapa Bar

While not listed on their menu they do have a collection of zero-proof cocktails. Tucked off a main street downtown it is the perfect stop for happy hour with friends.

Boom + Batten Restaurant & Cafe
@cjkinsella
With a fairly lengthy list of zero-proof options compared to many other restaurants this is the perfect place to go if you are looking to try more variety in one go. Several of their mocktails involve Lumette which is a local non-alcohol spirit brand. Also the views are pretty great.

Moxies Victoria Restaurant
@cjkinsella
With a recently updated zero-proof menu, and a stunning patio, this is the perfect place for a sunny lunch or summer dinner. Make sure to try the Tropic Thunder (but don't expect it to be overly spicy even with the chili lime rim)

Med Grill Royal Oak

If you are looking for Zero-Proof spins on classics like Mojitos or Bellini's then this is the place for you. But they also have a few original ones like the Howbiscus which is their house made hibiscus cocktail.

Riva

While no drink menu is listed online they do indeed have one, and it included a few zero-proof options. My recommendation the Blackberry Lemon Fizz. Snag a spot on the waterfront patio for the perfect end to a long day.

Fireside Grill
@cjkinsella
An expansive restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating in a variety of locations. Their menu is varied and sometimes changes but always has great options. Reservation not often needed but you may need to wait a few minutes. Fireside is a great family restaurant made even greater by the fact that they also have a handful of zero-proof options. Try the Pineapple, Berry, Coconut cooler if you are looking for vacation vibes or the Cucumber sour for something a bit more elevated.

Liberty Kitchen Belmont

A small zero-proof offering but currently the only one on the list with a caesar (where you get to chose you spice level). Ps. don't miss out on Nonna's Meatballs

FARO Handcrafted Pizza and Tasting Room
@cjkinsella
Makes for a great night away from downtown. Looking for something outside of the core of downtown, well this it! With beautiful indoor seating and a stunning patio it is a must in any season. Reservations are highly recommended. And while it might only have 2 zero-proof options (that aren't just sparkling waters or juice) they go big or go home with some unique flavour combinations including Lychee, Lemon & Cold Brew or Thyme, Black Pepper and Lime.

Ghost Ramen
@cjkinsella
Don't skip the Pear Soda. While it might seem like one of the more simple options on the menu it is so much more than expected and my first recommendation when I hear people are going to Ghost Ramen.

Bin 4 Burger Lounge
@cjkinsella
A great selection of Zero-proof options to pair with your latest burger choice. For something fresh give their Bin 4 Classic Citrus Mint Cooler a try or try something new with a Blackberry Maple Crush.

Darcy's Pub Downtown

You can bet your bottom dollar that if there are zero-proof margaritas on the menu that I am trying them. Honestly, I recommend you do too!

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse
@cjkinsella
Not only do they have a nice patio, stunning views, ample parking and a cute shop… they also have a non-alcoholic flight option! This was my first time ever getting to experience a flight, as at tastings zero-proof is often over looked and only water is offered, and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend the Ava!
