Five cute date ideas for Delhi winters

Five cute date ideas for Delhi winters

It is time for my favourite season. The cool breeze, the soft sunsets, the warm food - these are the months where one can truly enjoy the public spaces in Delhi. It is the time to go out for Dilli Darshan, to hold hands to keep you warm, to enjoy the comfort of roadside chai. So, here's 5 ideas that will ensure you have the perfect day out. Don't consider 'date' to be gender specific, take your friends out occasionally too :)

These dates are planned based on geographical proximity. The perfect day includes something to do - a form of sightseeing and something to eat - good food recommendations.

With respect to the food places I've mentioned, keep in mind your budget because they're all located in South Delhi. This is not to say that cheaper options are not available and I've mentioned the best from different ranges.

Most of these locations are directly accessible through the yellow line metro. The food recommendations with the places are in the vicinity of 10-15 mins so that you don't spend any time in travel.

Date Idea #1 - Exploring Date

Start around 11 AM to roam around the streets of Lodhi Art District. Understand the meaning behind the murals and click aesthetic pictures as you build an appetite for lunch. Head to Khan Market for a scrumptious lunch, choose from the huge variety of restaurants and cafes available there. Finally, walk to Lodhi Garden to relax and enjoy the peaceful sunset.

Date #3 - Science-y Date

The Nehru Planetarium hosts shows that talk about the creation of the universe. It helps you realise how small we are in the larger scheme of things, and yet lucky to have the people we do in our lives.

Date #4 - History Date

Witness the marvel of Humayun's tomb and walk around the gardens of sundar nursery. Sundar Nursery has the perfect setting for a picnic. I'd recommend carrying snacks, biscuits, drinks that you enjoy plus speakers to sit back and relax around the fountain surrounded by flowers.

If you feel like eating a proper meal, head to Fabcafe within the garden or Khan Market.

This is my favourite. Spend an entire day at Dilli Haat exploring the art, crafts, textiles, and most importantly, food from all across the country. Hop around different state stalls to try their specialities.
