Azerbaijan - the land of fire !!
Day 1 :
As you land in Baku at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport , head towards the hotel to take rest and freshen up. Spent your first day in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku which is also called as the city of winds. This city is also the lowest lying national capital of the world since it lies below the sea level.
Your first stop is the Heydar Aliyev center . This building complex is designed by the famous Iraqi-British architecture Zaha Hadid and is famous for its flowy and curvy architecture with zero sharp angles and is indeed an extreme engineering marvel. This center showcases the rich history and culture of the country which includes the country formation and its independence , art , music , carpets and also a mini Azerbaijan having miniature models of the country's historical and architectural buildings. Next , Hop into the funicular ride and reach up to the Martyrs lane . It also has a view of the famous flame towers of Baku. Walking further to the highland park , you can also view the city line of Baku and the Caspian sea.
Flame towers of Baku are also one of the architectural wonders that resemble the flames of fire and are a reference to Azerbaijan's nick name ' the land of fire'
