Best coffee shops for remote working in Charlottesville, VA

Best coffee shops for remote working in Charlottesville, VA

As a grad student, most of my time is spent working. As someone with ADHD and a very short attention span, I love changing up where I am working whether that is at home, the office, or a coffee shop. Charlottesville has many coffee shops that are both great for meeting a friend and chatting and getting some work done. Full disclosure, I am not a coffee drinker so I cannot attest to the taste of the coffee, but I LOVE tea and food.

My personal favorites:

These coffee shops are my go-to and my favorites in all of Charlottesville and the surrounding areas. My favorite ( and most visited) by far is Milli Coffee Roasters.

Milli Coffee Roasters
@jessicabesnier
Milli's is one of my go-to coffee shops in Charlottesville as there is always room to sit and work. They have tasty coffees and teas as well as made to order waffles (the Nutella waffle is to die for) and bagels. Their patio is dog-friendly so feel free to bring your furry friend to sit with you outside.

Grit Coffee
@jessicabesnier
Grit coffee is a popular chain in Charlottesville, but this Grit location is my far my favorite and most frequented. There are many different places to sit and spread out and they sometimes have very yummy muffins and treats too. I love their selection of teas.

Greenberry's Coffee Co.
@jessicabesnier
This is my go-to choice when I know I am going to want substantial food to eat. They have a variety of breakfast burritos and sandwiches'. They have so many different teas. It is usually crowded inside and there is only one outlet, but I can usually get a few hours of work done on my computer battery.

Shenandoah Joe Coffee Roasters
@jessicabesnier
Shenandoah Joes is always a fun, vibrant place. The location on Preston is huge and is usually crowded, but has a few seats open. Parking can sometimes be an issues, but it hasn't stopped me from meeting friends and getting some work done here a few times.

With the numerous Grit's in Charlottesville, it very much depends on which is most convenient location-wise. This location has a lot of tables and chairs outside as well as inside.

With coffee in Charlottesville, it is hard to go wrong. Depending on the time and day some of these shops can get crowded so I always like to have a back-up plan incase my first choice is too crowded.

Thank you for reading this guide and feel free to reach out with any questions! Happy working:)
