A week in Slovenia without a car on a budget

This spring i did a trip to Slovenia, on a budget without a car. I have decided to share my exact itinerary, as most guides in Slovenia include a road trip. This itinerary includes everything from arriving to Slovenia (by air or road), different accommodation options for each location, depending on your budget. Managing public transport, moving around the country (a breakdown of all the buses/trains you'd need to take), activity options, tours, excursions, food to try, etc. This guide is suitable even if you plan a longer trip (2-3 weeks), as i will provide enough options for you. Additionally, i will include a full honest breakdown of the cost, and you will be able to do this trip on a budget with my tips. THIS GUIDE INCLUDES How to get to Slovenia (cheaper options) Day to day itinerary Different accommodation options (for different budgets) Activities i've done, plus extra ones if you are planning a longer stay Places to eat, food to try Public Transport and moving around country (tips on cheapest options) Day trips\excursion options Breakdown of the actual cost

How to get to Slovenia:

BY AIR:

Ljubljana Airport is located about 30km north of Ljubljana, in the direction of Bled. You can get to the city center either by bus or a taxi\uber.

♦ BUS - Duration 45min - Price 4.10e♢ TAXI\UBER - 20-30min - Price 30e

BUDGET TIP: As Slovenia's airport doesn't see big number of tourists, and direct flights are expensive and limited,  you have different options that can save you money.  You can fly into one of the neighboring airports, and take train\bus\bla bla car to Slovenia. Choose according to where you want your Slovenia itinerary to start. You can choose between: Venice, Treviso, or Milan in Italy, or Zagreb in Croatia, and Graz and Vienna in Austria.

ARRIVING BY BUS\TRAIN:

A much cheaper option if you are in Europe, is often just traveling by either bus or train. I have for instance paid 70e for a roundtrip, and took a night bus. If you have enough time and energy and want to save up, trains and buses will be your best options. Extra advantage is that train&bus station are in the city, and near main attractions, so it will be more convinient.
