Ascot Hills Park

My favorite dog-friendly hike perfect for a weeknight! Park to the left, then walk up the paved pathway to the right all the way up to the top of the tallest hill. Then follow the small paths down and up the steep hills to make a loop back to the parking lot.

Great for a quick drive to show an out of town friend the skyline, and also full of trails with some of the best views of the skyline.

San Rafael Hill

This one of the more beautiful and more secluded hikes I’ve ever done in LA! A there-and-back hike with stunning golden-hour views of the skyline along the way.

Not so much a hike as it is a park with some walking trails, but home to a beautiful skyline view AND and turtle pond ⭐️

Find some incredible hiking trails further up the Angeles Crest Highway at Switzerland Falls, then stop at Scenic View 2 on your way home for the best LA skyline sunset.

Griffith Observatory

The most panoramic view of the city and a fun, free experience. It can get a little crowded here on weekends, so try to go on off days and make sure to catch one of the planetarium shows!

Beaudry Loop Trailhead

This hike is a little harder and longer than the others on this list. 3hrs and almost entirely uphill, I'd call it a moderate hike. Dog friendly and worth the trek for the absolutely incredible views at the top. Trust me on this one!
