Mexico City, where I was born and raised can be a chaotic city, with way too many people and traffic, but you should never let that put you off. In its heart and soul, it's a city brimming with excitement, delicious food, warm and caring people, culture, art, history, entertainment, and one of the best nightlife in the world.

It won't take you more than a few sips of tequila to find out that Mexicans love to party, and if you want to quench your thirst in the best places approved by a local, you've come to the right place.  SALUD!

A fancy restaurant by day and a fantastic little club by night. Just head up to the Pink room on the second floor for great cocktails and good music to dance the night away.

This is a DIY experience not to be missed. Party like the Mexicans on a colorful boat as you sail through our most famous lakes. It's cheap, beautiful and a great place to sing your heart out and do shots with your friends. All you have to do is purchase your own booze, cups, snacks, soda's beforehand... oh and  don't forget a large cooler and some speakers. You will also want to bring cash for this one.

Did I mention you can also hire Mariachis that are sailing by if you feel like some extra fun?

La No 20 is always a great time! The food and drinks are incredible and the live music makes this place very special. You can even get Mariachis at your table and request your favorite songs for a fee.

Try the mango Margaritas... trust me.

There is nothing more Mexican than Tequila and this famous drink is actually named after a little place in Jalisco famous for it's cantaritos, which is a drink made with tequila, citrus fruits, chile or salt rim and lots of ice. It's truly delicious, and thanks to this place in Colonia Roma, now you don't need to travel all the way to Jalisco to experience this yummy but very powerful drink.

Gin Gin is a fancy bar located in some of the trendiest areas of Mexico. The drinks are more on the expensive side, but with all kinds of cocktails and 50 different gin labels to choose from, this place sets itself apart as a Gin lover's paradise, and a must for anyone looking for unique mixology.

Malfama was one of my favorite places growing up. This hip bar is very relaxed, pretty cheap, and a wonderful place to grab a beer with friends while challenging them to a fun game of pool.

If you like dancing Salsa or Cumbia this is the place for you. Mama Rumba is ALWAYS a great choice for those looking for an authentically Latin place to dance the night away.

Barezzito Samara

The best way to describe Barezzito is to picture the offspring of a bar and a nightclub. Put those two together and add great live music and killer drinks in one of the best areas in Mexico City and you got yourself a very fun night ahead, guaranteed.
