Santiago is a the Capital of Chile. It is home to over 8 millin people ( in a total of 18 million) and its at the foot of the Andes mountain range.

It is a beautiful city with a lot to offer and if you are a first time visitor here are some things that you shouldnt miss!

Visit the city down town, where you can find all historical building such as the governmer house, Cathedral and forme congress building. Also when there visit the main square Plaza de Armas.

As you explore downtown you will run into Santa Lucia hill which has a great view of the downtown area ( beware of the stairs). You can also visit the traditional indigenas craft market at the bottom in the main entrance.

You will also find Lastarria neighboorhood as you keep exploring and let me tell you this place is awesome! Great food and restaurants, nice atmosphere and artisic vibe all around.

To finish your first approach to Santiago I suggest riding the cable cars on San Cristobal hill. You will be able yo experience the city from above and there is nothing like it!
