Essential Barcelona and Costa Brava Travel Itinerary
Tips before you go..
1. Most places in Barcelona and the Costa Brava accept credit card but I would recommend carrying about 50 euros worth of cash just in case. This is helpful when going to smaller markets or when you are purchasing low cost items.
2. When you arrive to the Barcelona airport there is an airport bus called the Aerobus that will take you to downtown for just over 7.5 euros, this is much more affordable than a taxi which will cost around $50 USD.
3. Purchase a t-casual card at a train station for the duration of your journey. Depending on how much you will use the train you can purchase a t-casual card with a prefixed amount of trips pre-loaded on it. I purchased the 10 trip package and found that it was perfect for my time in Barcelona (but I did lots of walking so if you plan to not walk as much, I would recommend getting more trips).
4. Purchase all entry tickets to main attractions ahead of time. This includes Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, Park Guell etc..
5. Make restaurant/bar reservations if you know you want to go to a specific place. I found that the people in Spain ate fairly late so it was much easier to get reservations before 8pm.
6. Not a tip but a disclaimer before we get into the itinerary, this itinerary was for an April trip to Barcelona. This is considered shoulder season and therefore may impact the pricing, availability, and experience you have if traveling during more peak season months.
