Ubud

Bisma Eight Hotel
@samanthaang
This is an all-suite hotel meaning all the rooms are spacious (they’re basically suites). The pool is heated, which makes it easier to slip into rather than a cold pool. Customer service is top notch, with the front desk helping me out via WhatsApp with some queries and special arrangements even weeks before my stay. They were also kind enough to provide me some Panadol when I was feeling ill in the evening. Last but definitely not least, breakfast at their on site restaurant Copper is AMAZING.

Munduk

Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort & Spa
@samanthaang
Arriving at Munduk Moding Plantation feels like stepping into another world. You've left the hustle and bustle of city life behind you for a few days and are ready to relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in nature. Honestly, you could spend your whole trip at this plantation and be well-occupied with its array of activities for the whole family. I highly recommend taking a tour around the plantation to learn how coffee is harvested and roasted - yes the very coffee you're drinking at this hotel! For the early risers, you may wish to join the bird watching tour. If not, you could probably hear the chirping of the bird from your own room. The air here is fresh and cool, so they don't have air-conditioning installed in the rooms. If you find the rooms too warm, you may request for portable AC to be sent to your room. The pool and jacuzzi are really relaxing, and if you time it right, you could go for a dip and be out just in time for your daily afternoon tea, served right by the pool.

Seminyak

Alila Seminyak
@samanthaang
If you've chosen to stay at Seminyak then chances are you're looking to enjoy not just one but as many gorgeous golden sunsets as possible at the beach. What better way to do that then to book yourself into Alila Seminyak which sits right on the beach front and has not one but three pools looking out onto the sunset. My favourite is the one on the left of the 'main pool' which feels quieter and gives you that 'infinity' feel as if you're swimming out into the open sea. The staff are ever so attentive and friendly at this property. Breakfast is served buffet style, with some items that you can offer off the ala carte menu. The staff can sometimes be a little overwhelmed when the crowd pours in but service doesn't dip too much. Food is delicious and you can head straight to the beach after breakfast since it's just next door. Very centrally located between Ku De Ta and Potato Head Beach Club, as well as having many restaurants in walking distance.

KANVAZ Village Resort Seminyak
@samanthaang
I first dined at Kanvaz Patisserie in March 2023, fell in love with the sweets, found out they had a hotel and came back again in January 2024 for a 4D3N stay 💕 👍🏻 Gorgeous pool, perfect for swimming long laps or just chilling. ✨ Bonus: they play music IN the water! 👍🏻 Delicious breakfast, co-located with Kanvaz Patisserie 👍🏻 Decent gym, peaceful spa at a very affordable price 👍🏻 Little touches like welcome macarons, providing a drying rack when housekeeping saw my swimsuit drying on the balcony railing. 👌🏼A small minus is that there were some mozzies in the room on the second day. But the hotel quickly provided some insecticide when we requested and the situation was resolved.

Jimbaran

AYANA Resort Bali
@samanthaang
One of the first resorts I ever stayed at in Bali, which still brings back such fond memories! 👍🏻 Spacious room 👍🏻14 varied pools 🌊 to enjoy - there’s a good mix of large fun pools for children and more exclusive ones for adults. My favourite was the Ocean Beach Pool, cliff side pool overlooking Rock Bar, a great place to catch the sunset and have a drink. 🌅 👍🏻 Delicious breakfast with many made to order options alongside the extensive buffet. 👍🏻 Access to the private Kubu Beach which is much cleaner and quieter than the rest of Jimbaran or Seminyak. ✨ Tip: If you want to save a little and don’t mind a more basic room - consider booking a room at Rimba, the sister property to Ayana which shares all their facilities. They’re connected via a regular shuttle bus service.
