Getting Prepared for your Road Trip!
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
The summer is an excellent time to visit Scotland because you can really enjoy the breathtaking outdoors and scenery as much as possible!
We visited in August which was an EXCELLENT time to visit because the heather was in bloom. This meant that the mountains and landscape were covered in a blanket of purple flowers that completely blew me away and added to the experience.
It is also the peak Midges season (a particular insect found in the highlands). You can prepare for them by packing bug spray, wearing long pants while hiking, tucking pants into socks and avoiding tall grass!
If you can't visit in August, no sweat, Scotland is stunning no matter the season!
We also visited in June, which was cooler yet still beautiful since wildflowers were also in season!

🇬🇧 I lived in London, UK for 2 years, mostly during the pandemic, when I really got to know the city in depth - since we couldn't go anywhere else! Beyond London, I’ve road-tripped through Scotland twice, explored gems like York and Liverpool, road-tripped through Cornwall & enjoyed countless day trips, from charming villages to coastal towns.
