Mt. Kisco, NY

One of my go to local hiking spots. First went here with my kids when they were in elementary school. They have a nice science center, with a new one on the way and about 10 miles of well traveled and varied trails. Be advised there are no dogs allowed.

Across the street (and across 684) from Westmoreland Sanctuary and they allow dogs. The trails offer great views inside the park and sweeping views atop the Hawk Watch.

Work

Well maintained trails, great science/education center and even a few birds of prey and a few other animals. The walk around the gig lake is relatively flat, but there are other options in other parts of the park.

A very popular dog walking spot. It's essentially one main trail with offshoots that go down towards the reservoir.
