Langhe, Asti, Monferrato:

Tenuta La Tenaglia Srl
@evelyn
You might not expect it but this is the oldest running winery in Piedmont! Open since the 1400s it has changed hands a number of times, today owned by a German family. However what is really unique about them is they are also the only winery doing Aged Grignolino. Grignolino is a wine typically drunk young, but when they found records that the Savoy family referred to aged versions in the cellar, they decided to experiment. The result is delicious. Head there to try it for yourself.

Vietti Azienda Agricola / Winery
@evelyn
Vietti is one of my all time favorite wine producers and they offer a great tasting experience. Today they lean on the commercial side, being more widely available, and technically owned by a foreign company. They are however still managed by the family on site and every one of their wines is worth a try. They are one of the producers who was responsible for bringing back Arneis! But if you are a red wine lover their Nebbiolo PerBacco never disappoints! Book online at link below

While the menu may not be anything jaw dropping, this is one of those wonderful little finds out and about. The menu is hand written on the placemat, and changes daily depending on what’s available. Classi Piedmontese appetisers that keep coming as long as you seem hungry and then fun yet simple home cooked meat and pasta for the main course. The staff are so sweet and it’s very filling 😅
