Otherwise, you can also come by plane to Oslo and make a road trip to the north to discover the country along the way. 

The train from Sweden is also a possibility

I did most of my visits by foot in the city, then again my motivation also always depends on the weather so maybe take a 7day bus ticket and you can always use it during your stay in case. 

Go for a hike ! There are many spots really close, like Theisendammen. (during winter, the lake is frozen and you'll see locals walking on the ice! But don't try it if you see no one else doing it, better be safe) 

Also, take the train R70 from the airport to the center - you will have an amazing scene all along the trip and you can use you 7 bus-ticket no extra fees. 

Final but not least, if you want to take a ferry tour in the fjords, go to the port and check out the timetable to see where you can go !

This Tower is a restaurant. What is so special about it? It's 74 meters high in the sky, and you have 2 levels: one turning around (one whole turn in one hour) and a no-moving level if you are sea sick haha

The food is amazing too ! (tried it personally) 

This museum is an reconstitution of a medieval town. They did all the shops, you can see the spot where the castle used to be, the church ... You can visit most of the houses - and you have guided tours on weekend so I recommend going then. 

This commercial center is right in the city center! Has lots of stores, some that you may know from European brands, plus others you'll discover and there is spot with different restaurants as well. Perfect for an inside afternoon if the weather is not great ! 

The Last Viking or "Den Siste Viking" is a statue on the border of water. If you go at sundown you'll have a nice view. If you want to know more, check out the story of this guy ! 

The Crown Regalia is well hidden (just kidding) but it's underground and very well guarded of course. I actually discovered down there that Norway and Sweden used to have the same monarch during some time ! This got me interested in the history of the country :)

You can visit this museum with a combined ticket with the cathedral + the crown regalia. It's a 3 for 2 price. The visit actually consists of ruins of the Palace that used to be there, and some miniatures of the cathedral showing how it was built. 

The Cathedral is actually very famous in the country and even in the whole Scandinavian area.  It's where all monarchs of Norway (and Sweden at some point) came to get sacred. 

This is a famous bridge in the old town area - you can actually get the most beautiful colored house pictures down there :) 

It's a really cute area to walk in, all houses in the city are so small but even more there! You'll find some cute shops and cafes where lots of locals go to hang out :) 

The Fortress is built on a high point of the city giving you a nice view. There are some QR Codes to see videos telling you about the history of the place, and some canons still looking over the city. 

There are direct flights from international airports like Amsterdam. 

The local money is the Norwegian crowner. The conversion is quite low at the moment for Europeans :

However, life in Norway is quite expensive since it's an island and lots of goods are imported. They also import a lot from the US. You'll find a lot of american food provisions in every store.
