Six Months Out

Going-to-the-Sun Road Vehicle Registration (Glacier): For Glacier National Park, you need to register your vehicle for the Going-to-the-Sun Road. This needs to be done in advance, especially during peak seasons. Reservations open up 6 months prior to the day you arrive - you will need a reservation for every day that you are planning to enter the park! We were lucky enough to realize this and were able to get our reservation online with no issue, but this is not always the case!

One Month Out

America the Beautiful Pass: This pass grants access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites, including all National Parks. It’s a great value if you plan to visit multiple parks. You can buy these online or at your local REI store for about $80.

You can also purchase a park pass, but if you are visiting for multiple days then getting the America the Beautiful Pass will be the best value. Order this in enough time for it to arrive in the mail prior to your departure!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Holly Harris
Hi, I’m Holly! I’m a Florida-based travel enthusiast who’s always planning my next adventure. Over the years, I’ve developed a love for research and digging deep into the best spots to visit, which led me to create detailed itineraries for every trip. What started as a personal project quickly turned into something I wanted to share with others—because let’s face it, planning a trip can be exhausting and time-consuming, so why not let someone who enjoys the process take care of it for you? I’ve put hours (sometimes days!) of research into each of my itineraries to make sure they’re not just thrown together. Whether it's finding the best hikes or seeking out hidden gems, I’ve done the work so you don’t have to. I’ve also recently fallen in love with hiking, so rest assured, any hike I recommend is one I’ve personally done myself. Another thing I’m passionate about is trying local foods and drinks, and I always make sure to highlight those in my plans. Oh, and I travel with my two mini doodles, so many of my itineraries are dog-friendly—though not all of them, as I want to make sure you have a variety of options. If you’re looking for a trip planned with love, attention to detail, and personal experience, I hope you’ll find my itineraries helpful and inspiring! Enjoy!
