1. Decide on an area!

Before actually looking for Hotels its good to understand, where to Seoul its good to stay! It clearly depends on your preferences and what exactly you're looking for. So here a short introduction to the Areas I structured the following Hotel List in:

Myeongdong

Myeong-Dong Walking Street
@nextstopkorea
Myeongdong Walking Street is a vibrant and bustling pedestrian street, famous for an exciting blend of street food and shopping opportunities. Visitors can indulge in a wide variety of delectable street food delicacies while exploring the numerous shops offering a diverse range of fashion, cosmetics, and accessories, making it a perfect destination for foodies and fashion enthusiasts alike. Don't forget to check the famous Myeongdong Underground Shopping Area for Kpop Albums, souvenirs and fashion! From 4pm until late at night you can get delicious street food in Myeongdong *__*

My personal recommendation for first time visitors that want to focus on seeing as many sights as possible in a short time! It's the most central place for most Seoul-Sights like the Palaces, Namsan Tower, Gwangjang Market and many more.

Hongdae

Hongdae Shopping Street
@nextstopkorea
Hongdae shopping street, situated near Hongik University, is a bustling and trendy hub for fashion, accessories, and unique shops. With its vibrant atmosphere, street performances, and a wide variety of stores ranging from independent boutiques to international brands, Hongdae shopping street offers a vibrant and exciting retail experience for fashion enthusiasts and trendsetters alike. In the evening - especially on weekends - you can see young artists busking in Hongdae!

Details

Hongdae, located near and named after Hongik University, is a creative and artistic hub in Seoul. Due to it's location close to some of Seoul's biggest universities, this area is famous for its youthful energy, dynamic street performances, many bars and clubs. It's a hotspot for indie art, fashion, and diverse culinary experiences!

Gangnam

Gangnam Station
@nextstopkorea
From luxurious boutiques and high-end restaurants to stylish clubs and entertainment venues, Gangnam embodies the modern and cosmopolitan spirit of the city, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a taste of Seoul's upscale lifestyle. Also don’t miss the Gangnam Style Horse Dance Stage

Details

This district became famous through Psy's Gangnam Style and if you understand the meaning of the song, you will see, what this area is all about: Shopping, Luxury and Skyscrapers. It's definitely on the pricier and more modern side.

Itaewon

Add to
Details

An area that got influenced by Seoul's foreign population a lot! In between its alleys you'll find great bars, endless foreign restaurants, hip cafes and so on. It offers similar vibes to Hongdae focussing on a youthful atmosphere and partying. That's also one reason why you can find endless hostels here!

Seoul Station

Seoul Station (Airport Railway)
@nextstopkorea
Add to
Details

The area around Seoul Station is very convenient for travelers, that plan to go on trips to other cities in Korea. It is also conveniently located close to many sights - similar to Myeongdong.

Others

In the last category you'll find other districts and areas with great Hotels and also special stays like Hanok or Temple Stays.
