First time in Playa del Carmen
Bus station
On whatever terminal you land, go and find the ADO bus station on your terminal. Then ask for playa del Carmen bus ticket (it would be around $280 pesos for one way trip) that bus is going to take you to the 5Th Av bus station.
After that, you can find your Airbnb, hotel or hostel close to there. If it isn’t, there is a taxi station right next to the bus terminal (they may charge you more than usual because you are a tourist) or you can keep walking to 10th or 15th street and grab a taxi there ( check that the taxi is not in a taxi station, cause they charge you more) and once you are in, ask for your address.

Back to the Airport
Once you are done with your vacation, go back to the ADO and ask for the airport ticket. Make it easy … Download the APP “ADO Movil” and buy your tickets there. You can check the departure times to the airport and saving time for not making a line.

About the taxis..
Something you need to know about the taxis is that they will charge you more than usual depending on… If you look new on the area, if you are walking with bags, If you have no idea where you are, If you see little shy, they can take advantage of it. So just be calm and make sure where you are and where you want to go.
Download Google Maps, it would help you a lot!
If you want to save money don’t go to the taxi station and ask for a taxi to take you 6 blocks away or more. Go to the street and ask for one like you do it in your hometown, raising your hand or making a signal.
Rent a bike
Playa is about walking or renting a bike, if you want you can also rent scooters, but for me its better the bike for being in constant movement. Everything is close, the beach, the restaurants, the bars, the nails, the mall... and so many things that you can easily park your bike wherever you want.
