LOS ANGELES BARS + BREWERIES

A comprehensive guide to a wide range of bars and breweries around Los Angeles, from a local. Disclaimer: I'm someone who prefers local dive bars and breweries over the nightclubs around LA! I'll continue to update this regularly.

BREWERIES

The Arts District in LA is a great spot to go brewery hopping as everything is within walking distance if you're looking for one central area to hit multiple stops at once.

Arts District Brewing Company
@MKTravelLifestyle
Probably my favorite brewery in the Arts District since it has not only great drinks, but so many activities (jenga, axe throwing, ski ball).

Another go-to spot that has games, both indoor and outdoor seating, dog-friendly, and a Mexican restaurant inside with great tacos. What's not to love?

Los Angeles Ale Works - Brewery & Tasting Room
@MKTravelLifestyle
Probably my favorite brewery in all of LA since my friends own the place (so I'm biased). But that aside, the beer is top-notch. They also have a smaller tasting room in Culver City.

A great local brewery in El Segundo with both indoor and outdoor seating and always some seasonal pints to choose from.

BARS

Shellback Tavern
@MKTravelLifestyle
The local favorite filled from everyone straight from the beach. Very laid back, and everyone's favorite dive bar that's also right on the pier. The place isn't big, so get there on the earlier side to avoid lines later at night.

Tower 12
@MKTravelLifestyle
If you venture out to Hermosa, this is a perfect spot to grab a drink right on the boardwalk. Elevated on the second floor, it has a perfect view for people watching and a killer happy hour deal. Their burger is also delicious if you want some food. I would suggest getting there sooner rather than later to avoid waiting in lines.

A local spot in El Segundo with a wide range of options. When you walk in, you'll get a wristband that you can go and tap any drink you want to pour yourself - either a taste or a full glass. Extremely convenient if you want to try more than one drink!

Father's Office
@MKTravelLifestyle
A casual place with a few locations around LA, this place not only has a wide range of drink options, but also a killer menu if you're hunger. I recommend the deviled eggs, the burger, the fries, or the fried chicken sandwich.
