The Ultimate Seoul Guide for digital nomads
The Journey to Seoul: How was crossing the world
My journey to South Korea began in Barcelona, where my flight with Etihad Airways departed. I bought the direct flight with the airline for $460, which included one checked bag. This is my first tip: Europe can be the quickest and most affordable route to Asia because once you arrive at your first destination in the continent, no matter where it is, the other flights are usually around $100.
My journey from Barcelona to Seoul took approximately one day, with a 6-hour flight from Barcelona to Abu Dhabi on February 14 at 9:00 AM, followed by a 3-hour layover and then an 8-hour flight from Abu Dhabi to Seoul, where I landed on February 15 at 11:35 AM.
Immigration was very smooth. The airport has robots that process everything in your native language, so if you're planning to go to Korea and don’t speak English, it won’t be an issue at the airport. However, it might be a challenge if you're traveling solo—it's difficult to make friends on a solo trip if you don't speak English.
Once I arrived, I boarded a bus that took me near the hostel I stayed at during my time there: Zzzip Guesthouse.
