Prague - Top 20 Restaurants
Remi Gourmel
After living in Prague for 5 years, I am thrilled to share with you my top recommendations for great food in the city.
Prague has so much to offer when it comes to food: from a local canteen to eat like a local, to a fancy dinner with a view, you came to the right map.
Whether you want traditional Czech cuisine or food from all over the world, with meat or vegan/vegetarian options: I got you covered.
You will find:
🍴 24 restaurants that I personally recommend (+ 1 bonus restaurant at the airport)
🌍 A selection of Czech, European, Latin, Asian and Vegan/Vegetarian places
💲 Restaurants for all budgets and occasions
This map will show you many places where I used to go when I lived in Prague, included some I wished I had known much sooner.
Be sure that I will take you away from the touristy and expensive restaurants to show you the real Prague.
You will also find the nearest public transport stop for each restaurant in order to help you organize your days.
I hope you enjoy it!

Arepas De Lyna
@remgo
📍 Tram Stop "Vinohradská Vodárna" (Vinohrady neighborhood)
If you are craving Venezuelan food and more precisely Arepas, this is the place to be.
Lyna, the lovely owner of the place, really makes you feel at home with her welcoming smile and heartwarming cuisine composed of traditional dishes (arepas, plantain, empanadas etc).
Arepas de Lyna has always been a go-to place for me whenever I had a bad day and needed some comfort food.
I first met Lyna when she was working alone at her first restaurant, a tiny place near Jiriho Z Podebrad. There was not much place to sit but I felt welcome straight away and ended up talking a lot with her that day while enjoying a delicious arepa.
The place she then moved to is much bigger and she still cooks yummy food.
Can't recommend it enough!

Las Adelitas
@remgo
I tried most Mexican restaurants in Prague and "Las Adelitas" was always a safe choice for great food and drinks at a reasonable price.
Their margaritas are to die-for and there is a large choice of delicious Mexican food: burritos, flautas, enchiladas or quesadillas.
Wherever you are in Prague, there is always a Las Adelitas close to you; they have four locations.
Fun fact: During COVID they delivered already-made margaritas and ready-to-use boxes for you to make your own tacos at home.
Great value for money.

Alebrijes

📍Metro Stop "Malostranska" (Mala Strana neighborhood)
Another great Mexican restaurant run by 3 brothers from Mexico City.
The place is a bit more difficult to find, right outside the Vojanovy sady park in Mala Strana, but definitely worth it.
When you enter, you go down the stairs and directly feel transported to Mexico.
I still remember being there for El Dia de Los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) celebration a few years ago: eating tamales and drinking a tequila shot while mariachis were playing next to me. It was quite memorable!

Cantina

📍Tram Stop "Ujezd" (Mala Strana neighborhood)
The last (but not least) Mexican restaurant of this list is located in front of the funicular that takes you to the Petrin tower (another great attraction you can visit).
The menu is quite extensive and gives you a great overview of the delicious food that you find in Mexico.
I particularly liked the interior that is decorated in a traditional style and transports you to a Mexican village.
It is a bit more pricey than the first two Mexican restaurants, but the food is definitely worth it.

Burrito Loco
@remgo
Bonus! Burrito Loco.
This is a Mexican fast food chain with 11 locations in Prague but it was impossible not to mention it here.
My favorite location was in Vinorahdska 60, in front of Jiriho Z Podebrad (📍 Metro stop "Jiriho Z Podebrad").
Whether I was coming back home after midnight, wanted a delicious burrito without having to wait for ages or was just craving Mexican take away food: Burrito Loco was always a great choice.
As the name suggests it, they serve burritos, along with quesadillas, tacos and bowls. They even have vegan options.
What would have I done without Burrito Loco?
