Tap into place for information about visiting the met cloisters:
The Met Cloisters
@vanasha
At the top of the hill located in fort Tryon, sits the met cloisters. Surrounded by greenery of plants, herbs and flowers that were grown and used during the Middle Ages.
Cobble stones walk ways, stained glass windows, wooden doors, aspes, fireplaces, religious iconography, tapestries, sculptures and relics. You will be in awww of of this little gem in that makes you feel like you’re anywhere else but New York City.
No matter the time of the year you visit, I suggest wearing comfortable shoes, because of what the building represents, there’s a lot of stairways, so it will be a lot of going up and down.
If you’re a New Yorker and can prove that by simply showing your ID, if not the admission fee will be $25.
You can choose to do the tour on your own, you can rent an audio guide for $6 or join one of the groups where you will get an extensive history lesson.
Over all you can do this trip within a half day and if you hold on to your ticket, you can also visit the met at Central Park the same day without having to pay again.
Overall this trip can be done in half day.
