🍺 Prague for Beer Lovers
How to use this guide
🍺 Famous Czech beer
These are 6 of the Czech classic beers you are likely to find in Czech pubs and in corner stores throughout Prague. Often a typical restaurant will be a "Pilsner" or a "Budvar" or a "Kozel" restaurant, and serve only from that brewery. But don't limit yourself to the big six! There are dozens of delicious independent breweries and microbreweries listed further below.
➕ PILSNER: The Czechs invented Pilsner-style lager in the western Bohemian town of Plzeň and call their beer the same, (🔊Pil-zen ) or what foreigners call 'Pilsner Urquell'. It's on tap in many local pubs. Tank Plzeň is the best.
➕ BUDVAR (🔊bood-var) is the only Czech beer to be brewed in a state-owned brewery. Don't confuse it with American Budweiser! I did a video on the Budvar - Budweiser controversy, watch it in the "Brewery Tours" section below. 👇🏻
