A few things to look for if you want to eat like the locals:
If a restaurant is over 100 years old, it’ll have a plaque built into the cement in the front. Any place that’s been around for a century has earned its stripes. (Photo below)
Similarly, if a restaurant shows a red exterior, it’s probably a good traditional place. That used to be the traditional label for bars back when not everyone was literate.
If there are little old men sitting outside in the morning or afternoon, it’s probably good.
