Charleston is remains a top travel destination (Travel + Leisure just ranked Charleston as the "Best City in the U.S. to visit" for its 11th consecutive year), but that also means the options in this southern foodie town can be overwhelming and tourist traps abound. Let me help you plan a cultured trip filled with experience that have you feeling like a local without the dreaded weeks of Pinterest spirals and TripAdvisor rabbit trails.

But why me?

I am a local with a strong understanding of Charleston's history and evolution as a top tourist destination - I even used to work for the City of Charleston with an office smack dab in the middle of historic downtown.

In addition to formal travel planing services, I do this for friends and family all the time! I am 100% the planner of my friend group- always convincing them to come with me to check out the newest spots, plus my partner and I host visitors on the reg. I mean, who doesn't want to take advantage of having friends living in Charleston?

This is personal-  I really love it here and want to help you experience the Holy City in the same way. I even moved away to Paris for a little while, yet found my way back to Charleston because turns out I can't deny that life in the Lowcountry is special.

What we could cover on your consult

This is your time and ultimately your call (pun intended). But here are a few suggestions off how we might use our time together:

- How to get started with trip plans, lodging, and itinerary building

- Help narrowing down your options based on personal interests, group size, or length or visit

- Special events and activity suggestions based on travel dates

- Time discussing all the logistical details you can't seem to Google an answer to (Where's the best places to park downtown or on the islands? What items are/are not allowed on the beach?)

How it works

1. Click the black "Hire Me" box at the top of my profile

This will lead you to my travel planning services page (feel free to watch my video to learn a little more about why I love helping others plan travel!), then select the "Consultation Call" option.

2. Choose between a Standard, Premium, or Luxe consult

+ Standard calls: 30 minute consults are good for tackling general logistical questions, plus a few restaurant or activity recommendations to round out your itinerary. This is the best option if you're taking a shorter trip and/or you've started the planning but want a local's opinion and tips.

++ Premium calls: 60 minute consults are great to do all of the above, then dig deeper with more personalized recommendations and get into more detailed logistics. They are also most likely the minimum time we need if you are more or less starting from scratch.

+++ Luxe calls: 90 minute consults are the best option if you want in-depth support during the travel planning process that includes mapping out a scheduled itinerary.

If torn, remember, you can always book a follow-up call if we run out of time, but you will save $$$ by booking a longer call up front.

3. Tell me your preferences so me can make that travel magic happen

Fill out a super quick questionnaire that will help me come to our consult call fully prepared with recs and ideas that match your trip lengths, purpose and interest.

Once you purchase the service I will be notified and will reach out to you via email within 24 hours with my availability. Then we can find a time that works for both of us and get to planning!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bonjour, y'all! I’m Emma, a southerner who moved to Paris and now splits my time between the City of Light and Charleston, SC. After years of planning trips to both spots for friends, family, and the occasional stranger I befriended on a plane, I made things official and launched Travel Filled, my travel blog and planning business. I used to work for the City of Charleston and now travel and work with cities all over the country (aka total local government nerd, proudly nicknamed the Leslie Knope of my grad class). That makes me incredibly enthusiastic about finding and sharing local specialities and hidden gems. I’m constantly seeking out new cultural experiences, running routes, good pescatarian spots, book and coffee nooks, and the perfect cocktail. I plan trips for all sorts of folks, but am especially passionate about connecting with culturally curious women looking to fill up their travel cup through a blend of authentic experiences and treat yoself moments and are just too busy kicking ass in their daily lives to plan it all on their own!
