Neighborhoods to Stay at

Choosing where to stay in Bangkok can be overwhelming as it has multiple neighborhoods to choose from. Wether you want to stay in the touristy area or in a calm area, this guide will help you narrow down your options. I have also included hostels that I have personally stayed at and I really recommend staying in.

Chinatown ☁️

China Town
@adritravelstheworld
Chinatown is a bustling district teeming with vibrant street markets, authentic Chinese cuisine, and ornate temples. From vendors selling everything from exotic fruits to traditional herbal remedies, to the majestic Wat Traimit temple housing the world's largest solid gold Buddha statue, it's a captivating fusion of Thai and Chinese culture. Because of this, Chinatown will always be my favorite place to stay when visiting Bangkok.

Hostel Urby
@adritravelstheworld
I have lost count of how many times I have stayed at this hostel (5, 6, maybe 7 times?) and I think that says so much about it. It's located in Chinatown giving you a more local feel. The back of the hostel has a stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. At night, there is a low-key bar next to it where you can have a drink while enjoying the view.

Siam Subway Hostel and Café bangkok
@adritravelstheworld
It is located just a short walk from the Siam MRT Station. The hostel was incredibly clean and comfortable. There is not much going around at night so do keep that in mind.

Sukhumvit ☁️

Sukhumvit
@adritravelstheworld
Sukhumvit epitomizes the city's modernity, boasting upscale shopping malls, lively nightlife, and a dynamic culinary scene. Stretching along one of Bangkok's longest roads, Sukhumvit is a cosmopolitan hub where luxury hotels stand tall next to vibrant street markets, offering a vibrant blend of global influences.

Recently renovated, Speck is the place to stay if you want to be near the mall area of Bangkok. It offers both dorm and private rooms at an affordable price. I have stayed here twice and have loved it every single time.

Chatuchak Market ☁️

Chatuchak Weekend Market
@adritravelstheworld
Chatuchak Weekend Market is the world's largest market with over 8,000 stalls! This is a great area to stay in if you want a more quiet time while exploring Bangkok. It is located near the train station if you are planning on taking the train to continue your exploration of Thailand.
