Old Hickory Lake
Old Hickory Lake is a relatively shallow lake allowing for several sandbars that make great party spots. There are also many coves to relax in, and several spots great for skiing. There are plenty of places to launch your boat as well as several marinas with food. Below is a list of the places we frequent.
Coves/Sandbars
Two Foot Cove
@AudreyinNash
The most popular tourist destination on Old Hickory Lake is two foot cove. With Nashville being a common bachelor/bachelorette destination, expect a great party. Two foot is technically a sand bar, usually sitting at 1-4 feet. Make sure to follow the markers in so you don't hit your prop, if you arrive at a busy time you will be able to follow people in. Two Foot is adjacent to the main channel so it is not recommended to tie off here.

Tin Can Cove
@AudreyinNash
Our favorite hang out spot is Tin Can Cove. It is protected by a peninsula so you don't get much rocking from the ski boats (this is also right next to a great ski location). There is lots of shallow shoreline to pull up to and walk around. We love playing volleyball and beersbee. Many people bring their tents/chairs/grills and make a whole day of it. Make sure to follow the markers when coming in from the channel or launch at Laguardo boat ramp to be nearby.

Skinny Dip Cove/Fetherling Cove
@AudreyinNash
Are you spending your time on the west side of the lake? Skinny dip is the perfect sand bar. Hidden between an island and the mainland, you are in a calm area, especially great for kids. There is also a deeper area in the back of the cove great for the larger boats.

Moby Dickys
@AudreyinNash
Moby Dicky's is VERY shallow and only has two slips. With no prop we are able to make it just fine, but you will want to be careful otherwise. Typically they have some amazing sushi, but hit or miss lately as they were short a sushi chef. Would only recommend with a depth finder/navionics.
