2 Days in Cape Town - Itinerary
Where to stay
How to get around
Uber is your best friend in Cape Town. Its very easy to call an Uber at the airport and its about a 30 min drive to Sea Point if there is no traffic. Once you are in Sea Point, you can walk in the day and Uber at night.
Day 1:
Breakfast
Start your day with a good breakfast, you can wither book the B&B option at the hotel or you can grab a delicious breakfast in the area. If it is a Saturday, I would recommend going to the Oranjezicht market. This has lots of great food options, good coffee and many little stores selling local South African food and products to buy. If you are not there over the weekend, I would recommend a local favourite: Kleinskys. They have the best bagels in town and are located in Sea Point.
Table Mountain
Once you have had some breakfast and gotten the energy for your first adventure, we are on our way to the mighty Table Mountain. Make your way to the cable car and head up to the top of the mountain. Once you're at the top, you can take in the views, have some food or go for a walk one of the trails. I would suggest to bring a picnic with you and have it at the top of the mountain or grab something small from the cafe restaurant at the top.
If you're feeling very adventurous and want to get a good hike in, you can walk the 8.5km trail to the Hely-Hutchinson Reservoir at the top of the mountain.
Dinner
To end the day, I would suggest a walk on the Seapoint promenade if you didn't have a walk on the top of Table Mountain. Its a very busy and vibey promenade. After a short walk, make your way with an Uber to the V&A Waterfront for dinner.
I had a hard time choosing just one restaurant to suggest here but Den Anker is always a go-to favourite of mine and its got a stunning view of table mountain. So I thought the best way to end your day being on the top of the mountain is by having a delicious meal looking at the Mountain fade into the night.
Day 2
Day 1 was all about the Mountain so day 2 we are going to make it all about the beach and the sea.
Breakfast
Same as day 1, I would recommend eating at the hotel or going to Jarryds for breakfast.
Beach day
After breakfast, lets head on over to Camps Bay for a day at the beach. There are a few amazing beaches in the area which you can try, but for convenience Camps Bay beach is the easiest as you can walk to go grab lunch when you're ready.
Tip: Bring your sunscreen because it will be very hot especially in peak summer! Bring your towels, water, and some cash to buy cool drinks and ice-creams from the local guys on the beach. You can also rent umbrellas and chairs from the guys on the beach.
Once you are ready to grab something to eat you will have a lot of options on the main street in Camps Bay. All the restaurants are pretty good and busy during the summer seasons, so you can just go to anyone with an open table. Cafe Caprice or Tigers milk are popular ones.
Sunset cruise and dinner
After a day at the beach, you might want a rest back at the hotel and get ready for a fun sunset adventure. Head back to the V&A Waterfront to get on your Sunset cruise. This is a great way to see the city from the water and an awesome way to spend an evening in the summer.
Tip: You will need to pre-book your tickets to make sure you get a spot and you need to make sure you are on time because they will leave without you.
To end the vibey day focused around the beach and water, lets head to Cabo beach club not too far from the V&A Waterfront for a meal and probably some cocktails and dancing. This place can get very vibey on the weekends. If you are looking for something more fancy, you can try the fine dining restaurant FYN in the city centre.
